The Challenge

Pots of Joy is a family-run plant nursery in Kingseat, South Auckland, supplying indoor plants, outdoor specimens, and pots to both retail walk-ins and wholesale landscapers across the region. With the range past 200 product lines and online buyers arriving from outside Auckland, the team wanted a store that could take orders directly rather than through a contact form that owners quoted, invoiced, and arranged shipping for by phone.

They also needed one catalogue that could serve retail customers and wholesale landscapers, each with their own pricing. The goal was a store that freed up time for propagation and customers while presenting the full range online.

Our Solution

  • Migrated the business onto WordPress with WooCommerce, structuring the catalogue with categories, attributes, and variations for plant size, pot colour, and species.
  • Configured regional shipping zones with live courier rates for North Island delivery.
  • Built a wholesale customer role with automatic trade pricing, bulk-order minimums, and tax display rules.
  • Designed a clean storefront with large photography and plant-care information so the range shows at its best.
  • Tuned on-page SEO for local plant-buying keywords, added LocalBusiness schema, and built the site mobile-first for customers ordering from their phones.
