Indus Mortgages: one brand, two countries, two sets of rules

Indus Mortgages helps home buyers, investors and self-employed borrowers on both sides of the Tasman, as Auckland-based mortgage advisers in Three Kings and as a mortgage broker in Springfield Lakes, Ipswich. The two businesses share a brand, a team and a service range, but each country has its own regulator, licensing, first home schemes and even job titles.

The brief was one recognisable brand that works as two genuinely local websites, each accurate for its own market. Both sites also had to replace the existing websites on their domains while keeping the pages that already drew search visibility.

We designed and built two Astro sites from one shared design system, purple for New Zealand and orange for Australia, with an NZ and AU switch in the header and hreflang tags pointing each country's searchers to the right site. We built service pages for each market, covering KiwiSaver withdrawals and the First Home Loan in New Zealand, and the First Home Super Saver scheme, the Home Guarantee Scheme and SMSF lending in Australia, alongside home, investment, construction, self-employed and business lending on both.

We built the regulatory detail into each site: licence and adviser registration numbers, a disclosure statement or credit guide, a complaints process and market-specific general-advice wording. We added application and contact forms, online booking, an asset-finance quote tool and mortgage calculators on the New Zealand site.

Both domains launched on the same day, with structured data for the advisers and redirects that carry the old sites' URLs to their new pages.
